Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP)

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) is an employer-driven initiative designed to streamline the process of hiring foreign workers in Canada’s Atlantic provinces. Under this program, all principal applicants must have a job offer from a designated employer and a customized settlement plan for themselves and their family.

Once a designated employer identifies a suitable candidate who meets both their hiring needs and the program’s criteria, the employer can extend a job offer without needing a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).

Upon accepting the offer, the candidate will be connected by the employer with a designated settlement service provider to assess their needs and develop a tailored settlement plan. Employers are committed to supporting the candidate’s long-term integration in Canada, helping both the new immigrant and their family settle successfully according to their settlement plan.

For employers needing to fill positions quickly, the program offers a temporary work permit, allowing candidates and their families to come to Canada promptly. To obtain this permit, candidates must have:

  • a valid job offer,
  • a letter from the province, and
  • a commitment to apply for permanent residency within 90 days of applying for the temporary permit.
